Scan scheduling
Run scans manually at any time (Scans → Run scan), or schedule them to run automatically.
Creating a schedule
- Go to Schedules → New schedule.
- Pick the AWS connection the schedule applies to.
- Choose a frequency: daily, every other day, weekly (pick a weekday), biweekly, monthly (pick a day of the month), or bimonthly.
- Set the time of day. Times are shown in your local timezone and stored in UTC, so schedules fire consistently across daylight-saving changes.
- Save — upcoming runs appear on the calendar view, color-coded per schedule.
You can pause/resume any schedule with its toggle, and edit or delete it at any time. The list shows each schedule’s last and next run.
Scan scope
- Accounts: scope is per connection — an organization connection scans all member accounts; a standalone connection scans that account.
- Regions: every scan automatically covers all regions enabled in the account. No region configuration needed.
- Resource types: control what is scanned on the Rules page — every detector can be toggled per workspace, and disabled detectors are skipped entirely (which also makes scans faster).
Following progress and results
The Scans page shows each scan’s live status (queued → running → completed/failed) with a progress indicator. A failed scan shows a Failed badge — hover it for the error message. Completed results land on the Dashboard and the Resources page.
Note: StaleSweep does not send a notification when an individual scan finishes — results are available in the app as soon as the scan completes. To have recurring cost reports posted to Slack on a cadence, see Slack report delivery.
